when we work together
Our members come together throughout the school year: we learn about the need in Fairfield County, we analyze grant applications from local non-profits and we pool our resources and efforts to give a $10,000 grant for a youth-focused project or program. We love helping others, and we try to make giving fun.
We're super excited to announce a NEW FORMAT for Generation Impact membership!
This year, for the first time since we launched, there is no required membership fee. We're very glad to have this opportunity to open up our program to even more high school girls who may want to get involved.
The Big Launch
Our kick-off event to introduce members and prospective members to some of the needs in our community, and non-profit organizations working to meet those needs.
We’ll explain our grant process and do hands-on activities to support some of our past grant winners and finalists.

The Big Review
We’ll work in groups to evaluate non-profit grant applications and vote for 4 finalist organizations. We teach members how to read and understand the applications. Each group will read, discuss, and vote for a finalist.
Our ultimate goal through this process is to learn about what’s going on in our community and have thoughtful discussions to determine finalists whose projects will make an impact.

The Big Visits
We’ll visit our grant finalists to see these non-profits in action! We’ll take a tour, meet the Executive Directors, and learn more about the population they serve.
It’s a very special opportunity to see first-hand what makes their organizations special and why they’re worthy contenders for our grant.

Our most exciting and important event!!! Our non-profit finalists will present and every member gets one vote for the winner of a $10,000 grant.
We tally votes in real time & announce our grant winner at the event :)
